Gary Colley

Gary Glenn Colley, Sr. was born in Vernon, Texas. He received his education from Freed-Hardeman University.

He is married to Maggie Witty Colley. They have three married children, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

He began preaching in Memphis, Tennessee in 1954 and has continuously preached for the church of Christ in Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma. He has also participated in radio and T.V. works. He has taught in preacher training schools in Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee. He has written many brotherhood publications. He is the past editor of the Christian Worker publication (five years), past staff writer for Firm Foundation, and director of Southwest Bible Lectures (five years). He presently directs the Getwell church of Christ’s Spiritual Sword Lectureship in Memphis, TN.

He has published several books such as, “Down Front and Ready,” “Lessons You Can Develop,” “Bible Class Notes On the Ideal Home,” “Fundamentals of Christianity.” He has also published several tracts including, “New Translations: What Is Wrong With Them,” “The Masonic Religion,” “Only In Thee,”and “The Standard of Morality.”

He presently makes programs for the Gospel Broadcasting Network, participates in meetings and lectureships. He is also in the beginning of his 7th year preaching regularly at the Getwell congregation in Memphis and he is also a part-time instructor at the Memphis School of Preaching.
